Born and raised In Western New York, Dr. Koch cofounded Buffalo-Niagara Hospitalists in 2004 and currently serves as managing partner. Board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, he is an honors graduate of Canisus College and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University at Buffalo / Sisters of Charity Hospital, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Koch proudly served in the United States Air Force / Air National Guard, attaining the rank of Major, and was the recipient of the Top Graduate, Distinguished Graduate, and Honor Flight Awards at Commissioned Officer Training School.
Dr. Koch has been honored with the Doctor of Distinction Award at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, the Top Performer Award for clinical quality and efficiency for Catholic Health, and the Sister Mary Mechtilde Award for leadership and community service. He previously served as President-Elect of the Kenmore Mercy Medical Staff and sits on numerous hospital and system committees. He currently serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Kenmore Mercy, Mount St. Mary’s and Lockport Memorial Hospitals and as a Physician Advisor for Catholic Health.
